Backed up by a strong research-oriented faculty, the Sabanci School of Management at Sabancı University currently offers a Bachelor’s degree in Management, a full-time MBA, an Executive MBA, two M.Sc. programs (M.Sc. in Finance and an M.Sc. in Management within the framework of the dual-degree Leaders for Industry Program run in conjunction with the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences) and a Ph.D. degree in Management.

Particular research strengths of the Sabanci School of Management are currently in the areas of organization studies, operations management and finance.

A Unique Curriculum in Turkey:

In Turkey students enter university through a central nationwide exam administered once a year. In all universities, except Sabancı University, students enter a department or program. At Sabancı University, students are enrolled in a common core curriculum which allows them to choose their program at the end of their second year. This, among other strengths of Sabancı University, makes it one of the most highly demanded universities in Turkey. For instance, students who receive scholarships from Sabancı University rank in the top 2500 among the 1.5 million candidates who take the exam every year.

Civic Involvement Projects:

All students are required to take part in civic involvement projects in their first year. The goals of the Civic Involvement Projects (CIP) are to foster an awareness of the individual's role in society by encouraging involvement in civic and community organizations through a platform for participatory democracy. The program’s aim is also to broaden an individual's social and cultural perspective through such involvement while at the same time providing hands-on learning for basic managerial and team skills. Such projects encourage students to be competent and confident individuals with a sense of social responsibility.

1 Part-time faculty members with qualified positions in corporate life. They contribute by giving seminars, lectures as well as constituting a tie with the corporate world.
2 Visiting faculty members with outstanding academic backgrounds holding permanent positions at internationally recognized universities.
3 Leaders for Industry (LFI) is a dual degree graduate program awarding the Master of Science degree in both Engineering and Management Disciplines.
4 Students are admitted into a common ECON/MAN (Economics and Management Sciences Programs (No Major)) program, and after their first two years (Foundation Development program) declare their degree areas.
5 Students declare their management major at the end of their second year. 193 are the total number of 3rd + 4th year management students.

Student Clubs:

Two clubs, namely Economics & Management Club and Entrepreneurship Club, organize many activities for students who are interested in management and business.

Information Technology:

Every student is provided a laptop and the campus is covered with an extensive wireless network. In addition, many classrooms are equipped with power and cabled internet access for students to use their laptops.

 

MBA Program

Company Action Projects:
A primary emphasis of the second year in the Sabancı MBA is the Company Action Projects (CAP). CAP's distinctive feature is that these are real projects companies want to undertake. Our client companies participate in CAP not only to contribute to our educational mission but also they see real value in the work of our students. Over the years, many projects have been completed successfully in a wide range of companies, from small and medium sized local firms to the subsidiaries of multinational corporations. Our experience shows that CAP has been very valuable both for our students and partner companies. For more information visit:

MBA Program and Corporate Life:

Ample opportunities are provided for Sabancı MBAs to learn from and interact with practicing managers. Our students show great interest in Managerial Skills Workshops. Additionally, the Executive Insights events provide a forum where successful executives share their life and work experiences, coupled by reflections from our students, alumni, and faculty.

 

Executive MBA Program

Academic Calendar:         Sabancı Executive MBA is a16-month program organized in four
                                              semesters.Classes are  on  Friday evenings and Saturdays.

With its content, instructors, and schedule that allow participants to learn in teams, the Sabancı Executive MBA provides practicing managers with the best preparation for global competition. Participants are successful managers of leading corporations, the curriculum meets global standards, theories learned in the program are immediately applied and there is strong collaborative learning through teamwork.

 

Leaders For Industry (LFI) Program

Company-Sponsored Program with Full Scholarship:
The program is supported by 11 leading national and multinational firms in Turkey. Students do not pay any
tuition and are required to spend the first semester of their second year at one of the sponsoring companies working full-time on a real-life project.

 

Master in Finance (MiF)Program

Academic Calendar:        A full-time 12-month program organized in three semesters.
                                             Fall Semester: Late September to late January
                                             Spring Semester: Late February to early July
                                             Summer Semester: July to Late August

The Masters in Finance Program (MiF) at Sabanci University Sabanci School of Management is a one calendar year full-time program that focuses on the important and growing fields of corporate financial management and investments. The curriculum focuses exclusively on finance and assumes students have no prior coursework in finance. The program is designed for individuals with an excellent academic performance record who have recently graduated or have 1-2 years of work experience.

 

Center for Applied Finance Education

Center for Applied Finance Education (CAFE) is a state-of-the-art financial research and teaching facility that comprises a 24-seat classroom/laboratory and an adjacent business suite. The hi-tech classroom component is equipped with a Bloomberg terminal, a Reuters terminal, and 25 high-end workstations, including one for the instructor, each with a dual LCD display. Each workstation has access to real-time financial data and news-feed and pre-loaded with powerful financial software. A LED Ticker display and two plasma TVs enhance the virtual trading floor feeling. Distance teaching/learning is made possible through a high-end video conferencing system. An integrated system of Smartboard, Sympodium, and Smart Airliner contributes to hands-on interactive teaching and learning. A document camera and two video projectors are also among other high-tech hardware components of the laboratory. The business suite provides a private research facility for small groups of students and is planned as the future headquarters of the student-managed investment fund.

Center for Applied Finance Education is made possible through a generous gift by EXSA A.S., a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding. The construction work for the CAFE commenced in July 2007 and the lab was in full service as of April 2008.

TUSIAD - Sabancı University Competitiveness Forum is a research center formed jointly by the Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TUSIAD) and Sabancı University.

EDU (Executive Development Unit) designs specialized programs, conferences and seminars for executive education. It fills an important gap in executive education by bringing together theoretical and practical knowledge, coupled with a dual focus on the global and the local. It has recently co-developed an executive program called MYGLOBE (Managing Young Global Enterprises) in collaboration with INSEAD.

Cost of living: 450 euro / month including room, board and other expenses

Accommodation: Dormitory rooms accommodate two or four people. Around 70 % of the students live on campus. Rooms are equipped with showers, personal telephones and 24 hours unlimited access to internet. All exchange students are guaranteed accommodation on campus.
